Blaize Whitehead is a 23-year-old electrical apprentice who works for his father. Born and raised in Northeastern Pennsylvania, Blaize grew up in the country and enjoys being in the outdoors. His sporting clays career started after Blaize shot in a fundraiser event. After this first shoot, Blaize was hooked with the game. He took the next step forward and joined a local SCTP team in his area. As Blaize’s love for the sport grew, and he became more involved with clay target shooting at a high level, he shot his first NSCA registered tournament in 2014. At this shoot Blaize met his great friend Shawn Kemeter and still competes with him to this day.
Blaize has been shooting the national circuit consistently for 5 years now. His admiration for the sport continues to grow every time he is on the course. Blaize says that some of his most memorable moments are making lifelong friendships through clay target shooting and being surrounded by a great community of people. Blaize says that the adrenaline rush and the constant desire to strive for more are what keep him working hard.
Blaize has been taking lessons from World Champion Anthony Matarese for the past few years. Aside from sporting clays, Blaize enjoys many outdoor activities including fishing, hunting, biking, hiking and swimming. Some of Blaize’s accomplishments include RU at the 2024 NE Regional, HOA at the 2024 New York State Championship, multiple All American FITASC team’s made, and multiple All American Sporting Clay Team Member recognitions.
Some of Blaize’s future goals are to win a regional title, a national title, and win a world title. Blaize would also like to eventually give lessons full time and make instructing a career.
