2023 North Central Regional

The 2023 North Central Regional was held at Northbrook Sports Club in Hainesville, Illinois from August 23rd - 27th. Northbrook is no stranger to hosting large championship tour events, in fact, most competitors will agree that it is the premier clay shooting venue in all of the United States due to the combination of great target setting, beautiful landscape, top notch management, and event atmosphere. The Seibert family and all members at Northbrook have a passion for the industry and it never fails to show when they host events. For the 2023 North Central Regional, Northbrook stayed on track with their trademark of challenging target presentations throughout the week in nearly all events which was no surprise to the shooters. Both the Clay Target Vision and Winchester courses on the Main Event panned out to have a nice mixture of target presentations that were tough but fair, however the CTV seemed to produce lower scores overall in comparison to the Winchester course. When the tournament was over, Brandon Powell and Braxton Oliver tied for HOA in the Main Event with a 189/200 which was very respectable shooting from both competitors. Due to the tie, Brandon and Braxton shot off and Brandon Powell was victorious claiming the first place title with Braxton Oliver placing Runner Up. Kevin DeMichiel placed third overall with a 187/200. Brandon also capped off an excellent week of shooting at Northbrook by claiming the FITASC HOA title which was one of this years NSCA Grand Slam Tour Stop Events with a stupendous 191/200. In the ladies category, Madison Sharpe shot a pair of 88s on both courses of the Main Event which put her at a 176/200 tying Shelby Moon. Madison ended up winning first place after the shoot off and Shelby Moon was Runner Up. Desirae Edmunds was on their heels with a 174/200 and wound up in the third place spot. The 2024 North Central Regional will not be held by Northbrook as the shoot travels to Woods & Meadow Sporting Clays in Wisconsin from May 30th - June 2nd. Although Northbrook will not have next years North Central Regional, they look forward to hosting the 2024 U.S. Open from July 24th - 28th. The 2024 U.S. Open at Northbrook will surely be one you won't want to miss.
