In general, a lighter gun will have more felt recoil.  My suggestion would be to go to a club or a BIG shotgun competition and ask to shoot a few different guns.  Dealers will often have demos, and most shooters I know will let you fire a couple shots from their baby if you show interest.  "Hey what kind of shotgun is that?"  will earn you a few bangs on my shotgun anytime.
